Basketball - When to start clock on free throw and throw in.?

on an inbound play, the clock starts when the player on the court touches the ball(the inbound player.) on a free throw it starts after the ball hits the rim, when the players touch it to get the rebound. if they get it in it starts just like the inbound play would.
