If marriage between two adults gives them certain legal rights, why would YOUR CHURCH have any say in who can?

The fact is that marriage is a civil contract whether you get married in a church or in City Hall. Churches should have a say in who they marry, and they do. But they don't have the right to legislate their beliefs into law.
